lil ole honey bee
I am a big fan of anything honey. A spoonful a day to keep me sweat and healthy. I also use beeswax to wax the thread I use in sewing text blocks for my handmade books.
I buy local honey for its great taste and health benefits. I have not had a cold sense I began taking a spoonful of a day. Knock on wood! I also use local honey in my canning endeavors. I make a "Sweet Heat" BBQ sauce that is honeylicious.
They have hives all around town. My favorites are "Highland road" and "The old bridge". If you are a honey lover like me stop by the Breada farmer's market every Saturday from 8a.m. to noon. Trust me you will greatly enjoy their company and their honey. If you are interested in some "Sweet Heat" BBQS sauce contact me at grinningjupiter@gmail.com or www.etsy.com/shop/grinningjupiter.

Jess's Organic Ceramics
I love the idea of functional art. Many people think of art as an abstract thought that can only be viewed not held. Jess's ceramic pieces have a conceptual idea that are expressed in clay. Her pieces are extensions of the organic world around us. It makes me happy to sip coffee from a beautiful piece of art. Please support this medium of functional art by visiting BrewHaHa and purchasing your own cup of art!
I had the pleasure of working with Jess at BrewHaHa and getting to know her as a beautiful person but also an amazing artist.. Jess Brooks is a graduated with her BA in Fine arts from Rhode Island School of Design. Jess is from New London,CT but the good people of BR had her for a little while. Her mugs are currently on sale at BrewHaHa which is located at 711 Jefferson Hwy suite 2A.
contact info: jbrooks@g.risd.edu
P.S. Next art Au Lait at BrewHaHa is Friday August 19th from 6pm-9pm. There will be great art, food , music, and of course coffee!

introduction
Here we go.. Grinningjupiter blogging. This is our first attempt at blogging. We hope you find us interesting enough to follow our bayou lead. Stefan and I are from southern Louisiana and loving it. We are surrounded by a rich culture, amazing food, and a deep swampy past. We breath the beauty of our state and it shows in our work. Some of the darkest aspects of our culture move us to embrace the unseen, the beautiful, mystical, and the crazy around us. We have grown up appreciating the valuable relationship between our natural habitat and its impact on our families.
Hi, I am Ashley Savoy and my husband is Stefan Andermann. We are artist living in Baton Rouge. We started GrinningJupiter studios about seven years ago. We share a lot of common elements in our art. Our love for the old, discarded, and decaying shows in our work. I work in many mediums but specialize in photography while Stefan primarily works in metal sculpture. It does not end there ..... printmaking, book arts, functional art, textiles, and organic sculptures. Our hope is that you find what tugs at your memories. We want to create something beautiful that gives new breath to the forgotten. You can view our shop at www.etsy.com/shop/grinningjupiter or www.grinningjupiter.com
